That’s the question I asked each woman to answer as she introduced herself at the No Excuses! group. My intention was to help ground everyone and to give us resources in our lives and during the group. So, I resourced myself and gave everyone grounding. Acknowledged that we all need grounding.
Meditation. Breath. Note taking. Being honest, being open. Having a bigger perspective, thinking long term. Human connection. Affirmations. Getting in touch with the body. Putting hands on the body. Connecting to others. Noticing and acknowledging what you’re noticing. Routine, ritual, touch. Moving my body slowly and deliberately, slowing down, listening inside.
And, in a moment, it can all fall apart with distractions, obligations, email and anxiety… which is why it helps to acknowledge that grounding is a practice, one that we can return to, one that can resource us and bring a sigh of relief or spark of clarity in a moment.
What grounds you?
